Our client, a market-leading healthcare technology company in Pittsburgh, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their growing finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a purpose-driven environment where financial management directly supports the delivery of critical healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition Management - Lead the company's revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting business growth
- Financial Reporting & Analysis - Assist the Controller with general ledger activities, month-end close, and preparation of financial statements for upload to Hyperion
- Tax Compliance Leadership - Ensure timely and accurate preparation of multi-state sales tax filings while monitoring changing regulations
- Financial Operations Oversight - Help manage accounts receivable, collections, payables, and inventory valuation
- Fixed Asset Management - Maintain accurate records and oversee physical inventory validation and reconciliations
- Audit & Compliance Support - Manage preparation of supporting documents for internal/external audits and compliance requirements
- Process Improvement - Identify opportunities to develop more efficient procedures while maintaining high accuracy
- 5-7+ years of senior-level accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency with Sage 300 software or similar ERP systems
- Multi-state sales tax experience
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, particularly advanced Excel capabilities
- Database experience with a technology-oriented mindset
