Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Processor to join our construction company. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for all construction projects, with special emphasis on publicly funded projects requiring certified payroll reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, excellent attention to detail, and experience with construction-specific payroll requirements.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Processor to join our construction company. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for all construction projects, with special emphasis on publicly funded projects requiring certified payroll reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, excellent attention to detail, and experience with construction-specific payroll requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for construction personnel across multiple job sites
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contracts
- Verify and input employee time records, ensuring accurate job classifications and wage rates
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll inquiries
- Track fringe benefits, deductions, and union contributions
- Maintain detailed records of certified payroll submissions and supporting documentation
- Generate reports for management regarding labor costs, hours worked, and compliance status
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure proper job costing and labor distribution
- Stay current with changing prevailing wage requirements and regulatory updates
- Assist with payroll audits and ensure records are audit-ready
- Interface with government agencies and compliance officers as needed
- 2+ years of experience processing payroll in the construction industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of certified payroll requirements and prevailing wage laws
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting software (e.g.,LCPtracker)
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of construction job classifications and wage determinations
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
