A long-established leader in the commercial fire protection industry is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Service Manager to join its Los Angeles-based team. With decades of experience providing fire sprinkler design, installation, inspection, and repair for large commercial projects, the company takes pride in its commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. The service department plays a critical role in maintaining code compliance and ensuring life safety through responsive repairs, emergency support, and routine inspections.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Service Manager to lead our fire sprinkler service operations. This role will oversee the day-to-day activities of the service department, including managing technicians and inspectors, coordinating inspections and emergency repairs, and ensuring all work meets regulatory and quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of fire sprinkler systems, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the service department, including inspections, repairs, and emergency response.
- Schedule and dispatch service technicians and inspectors based on project workload.
- Respond promptly to service calls, including urgent and after-hours repair requests.
- Coordinate inspections with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Order and track necessary materials and equipment for service work.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Track progress of ongoing jobs, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Monitor service department performance metrics and reporting.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and client specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Excel and project tracking tools.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry (service, repair, or inspection).
- At least 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (scheduling, job tracking, budgeting).
- Experience with project management or service software (e.g., Procore, ServiceTrade) is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET certification(s) in fire protection.
- Knowledge of local fire codes and inspection requirements.
- College degree or formal leadership training.
