Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, managing the finance team, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role reports directly to the Owner and plays a crucial part in the company's financial strategy and decision-making processes. We are a mid-size company with 30+ years in business with an established reputation for high quality and excellence in our field, staying ahead of industry advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Ensure that reports comply with accounting standards and regulations and provide stakeholders with a clear view of the company's financial status on a timely basis
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger accounts on a timely basis, including cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, loans payable, payroll, etc.
- Oversee the company's financial reporting and ensure compliance with all legal requirements
- Create and manage the company's budget and financial planning processes
- Monitor the company's cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational obligations
- Manage team effectively by ensuring staff have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties
- Provide outside CPA with all required documents and reports for preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets
- Manage and optimize the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, and audit coordination
- Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the accounting department
- Collaborate with other department heads to develop financial strategies aligned with company goals
- Prepare financial forecasts and analysis for management decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a management role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in NetSuite and SAP accounting systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and tax regulations
- Experience with financial software implementation and optimization
- Knowledge of internal controls and risk management
- Understanding of cost accounting and inventory management principles
- Familiarity with financial forecasting and modeling techniques
- Ethical and professional approach to handling confidential information
