Senior Operations Manager
Location: Oakland, CA
About the Role
We’re looking for a results-driven Senior Operations Manager to lead terminal operations at our Oakland facility. In this role, you'll oversee daily activities across vessel, yard, rail, and gate functions—ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and on budget. You'll also develop and manage a team of Operations Managers while working closely with other departments to keep things moving smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coordinate daily operations across multiple terminal areas
- Manage and mentor Operations Managers, focusing on performance and development
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Monitor operational costs, labor, and resource allocation
- Collaborate across departments to solve issues and streamline processes
- Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in logistics, terminal, or maritime operations
- Proven leadership experience, especially in a unionized environment
- Strong knowledge of container terminal systems and safety compliance
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred)
