Sr. Project Executive – Data Center Construction

Mattson Resources is working with an exciting Billion-dollar global company that owns, develops, and manages industrial real estate including logistics facilities, warehouses, retail outlets, and business parks.

They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Executive with a strong background in data center projects.


Job Description:


You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data center projects, from design and planning to implementation and execution. Your expertise in data center infrastructure, project management methodologies, and technical knowledge will be key in ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget, scope, and timeline.

Responsibilities:
 
  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify project requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
    • Oversee the execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues and develop contingency plans as necessary.
  2. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including construction managers, architects, contractors, and vendors.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are understood and incorporated into project plans.
  3. Data Centre Infrastructure Expertise:
    • Utilize your in-depth knowledge and experience in data centre infrastructure to drive project success.
    • Oversee the design and implementation of data centre facilities, including power and cooling systems, networking infrastructure, and security measures.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center construction, maintenance, and operations.
    • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the data centre industry and apply relevant innovations to project planning and execution.
  4. Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Regularly communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and manage project dependencies, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems and processes.
    • Address stakeholder concerns and issues promptly and facilitate effective resolution.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
  • Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, networking, and security.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering high-quality projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
